Tallest Statue in the World

Statue of Unity:
The world tallest statue is dedicated to Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel. He  is one of the founding fathers of the Republic of India. He is known as the Iron Man of India.

The work  on the statue started in 31 of December 2013. This is completed after round-the-clock work by 3400 labourers  and 250 engineers. The giant structure is built of about 90,000 tons of iron. The core of the statue is made up of reinforced concrete.


Budget:

The budget of the statue is US$ 28 million. The statue was built on a public private partnership model, with most of the money raised by the Government of Gujarat

Height:

*  597 feet or 182 meters 
*  It is twice the size that of Statue of Liberty in New York city.
*   From sea level, the height would be 237.35 meters— the 70-meters.

Built by:

* Larsen and Toubro

Location:

*  It is located at Sadhu bet Island on Narmada River in Gujarat.
*  3.32 kilometers from the Sardar Sarovar Dam.

The opening date of the Statue is 31 of October 2018. It can accommodate 200 visitors at a time.
The museum showcasing the life of Sardar Patel is at the base
